Of the five boroughs, the Bronx is the only one which has the majority of its area on the U.S. mainland and, with a land area of 42 square miles (109 km2). Located north of Manhattan Island, the Bronx is home to the Bronx Zoo, the New York Botanical Gardens, and the New York Yankees professional baseball team.
